Lisburncityjobs is a virtual sign posting service for training and employment in the Lisburn City Council area. This project has been funded by Lisburn City Council and The European Community under the programme for Building Sustainable Prosperity.
In 2001 Lisburn City Council commissioned Glenwood Business Centre to carryout a citywide audit to identify future and emerging skills requirements of local employers. The skills audit identified a clear gap between the skills needs of employers and the skills available in the local labour market.
To adequately meet employer’s needs, the Lisburn Skills Informaiton Unit project was launched to provide greater accessibility to employment opportunities for the residents of Lisburn City by creating a dynamic to ensure that labour training skills are being delivered in line with labour market needs
